Music scholarships shall be awarded based on the student's music ability, recommendation of the faculty, and accumulative grade point average based on the last semester the student attended high school or college. Scholarships may be renewed each semester for up to four semesters. Music faculty shall review and consider scholarship renewals each semester. Grade point average, work ethic, and class attendance will be reviewed by the music faculty.

Music scholarships are available at Mineral Area College in various amounts.
All scholarships have requirements for the applicant.  Auditions take place in the spring semester. Students who apply should have a minimum 2.5 GPA, be a full-time student (12 or more semester hours), and participate in a minimum of one to two major performing ensembles, as per scholarship agreement. Students who are awarded scholarships are bound by the requirements of the scholarship. The duration of the scholarship will be dependent upon the requirements of the provider. Auditionees will be required to sing or play two pieces of contrasting character.
